Good evening team!
Well, the weather certainly turned quickly last night!
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. We did a rush review of the season last night so here it is for you to view at your convenience.

Recap
Fit Kit - The fit kit will be returned on Monday. If you still need to have your child try on suits to find the right size please contact Kim ASAP.
Job sign up - WE RUN ON VOLUNTEER POWER! Each family needs to sign up for a minimum of 3 jobs during the season. The volunteer coordinator will review the sign up for each meet and start reaching out to parents if volunteer spots still need to be filled. Jobs that must be filled at every meet are Stroke and Turn judges, Clerk of Course and an assistant COC, timers, kid pushers and runners along with a few other important jobs. For the home meets, we need announcers. Some of these jobs can be split shifts if that helps people who need flexibility or breaks. Just let us know.
We have a stroke and turn clinic taking place at Bentwinds pavilion May 28th at 6pm. Would love to have you join us. If you want more comprehensive meet information please feel free to attend one of the mega clinics June 2 or June 8. These clinics cover stroke and turn, New rep/admin duties, starter(announcer) training and a coaches clinic. Please email Kim via [email protected] for more details.

May 30th - Assagios is giving back to the Barracudas! All day! Be sure to drop your receipt in the Barracudas box at the checkout counter and 15% of the proceeds comes back to the team!

RSA swim clinic - TBD
First day of practice - May 20th. Swimmers, remember...."Hey coaches Kourtney, Meghan, Kayla, Aidan and Sydney!" The coaches have a fun summer of practice, meets and treats for you! You wont want to miss out!
There will be optional practices posted. Typically the optional practices will be on Friday afternoons or possibly Saturday mornings. They will include all ages and focus on specific things that the coaches determine the team needs to work on. Once the coaches have had a week or so to work with the kids we will post those special days.
Mock Meet and picture day - June 4th – Please make every effort to attend. Especially those who have never swum before. The kids need to get used to the sounds of the announcer and the horn and they need to have a general idea of where to go to get ready to swim. We also have many new parents so if our parents with experience could help provide guidance for the various jobs that would be a tremendous help.
Swim meets - starting June 11th. We have 6 meets total. 3 home and 3 away. Reminders and requests will be sent regularly for each meet. This will include team needs, directions and information for meets as well as any other information necessary for the each meet to be a success.
Meet entry - swimmers meet availability must submitted by 6pm Sunday evening so that the coaches have time to plan the heats. If you need to change your swimmers availability after 6pm Sunday please notify us immediately.
Weather – we never assume a meet is cancelled! We do still have to show up and wait for the official call of the meet before we go home. Meets are automatically rescheduled to the next night. IF we get through breast stroke we can call the meet and not have to return the next night. We will be sure to let everyone know how we will notify about the weather.
Heat sheets - will not be available before the meets, no matter how nicely you ask! :)
Championship meet – weekend of July 20th (may be Sunday Only) More info to come.
End of season celebration – Friday June 19th – More info to come!!!!
