Hello Barracudas!

Well, it is that time of the year!   The mock meet is tomorrow!   Exciting for everyone!

Kids get to see how they have improved and what they need to work on and parents, you get to watch your kids swim as you man some jobs to help the evening go smoothly.

This is the event that the coaches will see the times of the swimmers as well as what else needs to be addressed both in the water and on the pool deck.

Please arrive no later than 5pm.  The kids should be in their team swimsuit and have their swim cap and goggles.   Tees will be given out tomorrow so that everyone has their tee for the team picture.  The kids will be lined up for pics by 5:15pm.

Speaking of team pictures.....Please be sure to thank Tina Morgan for another year of photography for the team.    

We will make every effort to run the mock meet as much like a real meet as possible. 

Kids and volunteers please check in under the pavilion before finding a spot on the pool deck.  

Kids will do their warm ups right after the photos.

The volunteer meeting will take place about 15 minutes before the meet starts and the national anthem will be at 5:58.

If you are new to the swim team and you are not sure about what to do or where to go please ask.  Our wonderful experienced parent volunteers will help you find your way.  Not sure what job you would be best suited for?  As you participate in the mock meet you will see what each job really entails.   You will be able to determine if a particular job is for you.

Worried about messing up?  You can't - and even if you do its no big deal - its the mock meet.   If I (Kim) can do these jobs then anyone can.   :)

If you signed up for concessions please be sure to arrive no later than 3:30/4pm.  There is a good bit to set up before the meet from cooling down the drinks to prepping the hot dogs and displaying the goodies. 

The meet must be finished by dusk.  Once the meet is complete please do your part to help clean up and put the pool deck back in order for the next day.   

Please check to be sure you don't leave anything behind.   If you do then check Lost and Found by the lifeguard room.  

Side note:  Be sure your child has a towel or 2.  Maybe a change of clothes or something warmer.   As the evening cools down the kids who come out of the water may feel a chill so they will need a little something to warm up.

PS!  If you made it to the end.....Dairy Queen has a free ice cream cone for each swim team member once the mock meet is over!   They will be ready for the team!   So grab your parents and your coaches and celebrate the end of the mock meet at Dairy Queen!
