Congratulations to all of our swimmers on Tuesday’s meet against TCC! The Barracudas were quick in the water and came out victorious. One of my favorite moments of the evening was hearing all the kids cheering each other on during the Freestyle Relays, it was such a great display of team spirit!

After recapping this past meet with the Coaches, I wanted to take a moment to remind us all of the importance of encouraging great sportsmanship and helping our swimmers stay focused on giving their best effort. While the score is fun to follow, it can also become a distraction. We’ll be asking our swimmers to focus on swimming their fastest and supporting their teammates, not the score, and we’d appreciate your help reinforcing that message.

We will be holding an optional practice tomorrow, Saturday, June 28, from 8:30–9:30 AM for any swimmers who would like to attend.

If you haven’t already declared your swimmer for Tuesday’s upcoming meet, please do so as soon as possible. All swimmers must be declared (attending or not attending) by 12:00 PM on Sunday. For those of you traveling for the holiday, we wish you safe travels, you’ll be missed!

Below are the meet details from Brighton Forest:

Pool location: Pool is located at the front of our neighborhood; 2625 Brighton Forest Drive, Apex, NC 27539. Our pool is 25 yards, 6 lanes. We have starting blocks and lights.

Parking: We have VERY limited parking and VERY narrow streets. We highly encourage carpooling as much as possible please. Limited parking will be available in the pool parking lot, dirt/grass lot next to the pool parking lot, around the outer perimeter of the traffic circle on Brighton Forest and then on the streets off of the traffic circle. Please be respectful of folks' lawns and stay off their grass, but park as close to the edge of the road as possible and only park on the right side of the street. (Parking during swim meets is our neighborhood’s biggest concern with the swim team regarding folks accidentally parking on neighbor’s grass during swim meets, so please encourage your team to help us remain in good standing with our neighborhood.) Set-up on the Deck: Our team will set up on the Right Side of the deck as you enter the pool near the Slide. Feel free to bring chairs as space permits. Unfortunately, at this time we are not allowed to have tailgate tents/canopies on the pool deck.

Concessions:They will have pizza, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, chips, candy, soda and water for sale. Cash only.
